About Us

Win-Door Joinery Limited is a family run business and the owner, Jani Cota, has nearly 20 years of experience in manufacturing and installing wooden windows and doors. We work with private and trade clients and our customers are predominantly in Chiswick, Brentford, Kew, Richmond and Ealing. We also undertake work outside of London if required.

All timber products are handcrafted locally at our Kew Bridge workshop using premium quality European Redwood Pine for our windows and Dark Red Meranti (or another hardwood of your choice) for sills and doors. If more peace of mind is required, products can be made entirely in hardwood or high performance Accoya. We also treat all of our products with a wood preservative to protect them from fungal attack and woodworm. Once the products have been manufactured, they are all primed with an undercoat ready for the final paint coats after installation. We also offer an optional installation service where we will replace the old windows and doors with the new ones.

All products are meticulously handcrafted to ensure a durable, quality product that will last for many years to come, all at competitive prices.

You are welcome to visit us at our Kew Bridge workshop and view some examples of our work.

Windows

Casement Windows

In the United Kingdom, casement windows were introduced before traditional sash windows and with the number of home owners renovating period homes, they are still very popular today. In fact, even home owners of more modern homes may choose casement windows. Casement windows are attached to a frame with one or more hinges at the side. They may come in pairs with a left and a right opening window. For larger window openings, there is often a fixed casement in the middle between two opening windows.

Occasionally, hinges can also be fitted at the top of the frame creating an "awning" window. This type of casement is used for small windows in bathrooms or may be found at the top of doors or larger fixed windows to create ventilation. Casement windows are held open with casement stays which come in a variety of finishes like satin chrome, polished brass, polished chrome etc.

Win-Door Joinery can manufacture any timber casement window to your exact specifications either with double or single glazing. We can also match any existing style with glazing bars or leaded panels.

Sash Windows

During the 1600s, sash windows were introduced in homes around the United Kingdom. They are often found in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses, with some examples from the 1670s still surviving today in Ham House, Richmond and Chatsworth House, Derbyshire. Sash window styles vary greatly according to the period with the classic designs being 6 over 6 panes, 3 over 2 panes, 2 over 2 panes and 2 over 1 pane formations.

Sash windows consist of a box frame and two sliding "sashes" which move up and down in the frame through the use of cords, pulleys and weights. These windows became popular due to the fact that they allowed for greater ventilation in homes as warm, stale air could escape through the top sash and cooler, fresh air could enter through the bottom, all whilst keeping the rain out. In addition, the temperature could be regulated by altering the height of each sash opening accordingly.

Win-Door Joinery manufactures the box frame, as well as the sashes, to your exact measurements and we can create any pane formation of your choice, using stick-on or solid glazing bars. Glazing can be traditional single glazing, double glazing or acoustic glazing.

Doors

French and Folding Doors

All French and folding doors are made to measure and come in a variety of styles to suit your home. We can replicate existing doors which need to be replaced or we can work with you to create a new look for existing doors or a building extension. French and folding doors can also be used internally to create a divider between rooms.

Doors are manufactured in hardwood timber and are double glazed with toughened glass for optimum insulation and security. Internal doors are usually single glazed with safety glass. We also fit the locking mechanism and handles of your choice.

French or folding doors can transform your home and add value by bringing in natural light and making access to the outside a seamless experience.

Front, Internal and Garden Doors

Our front, internal and garden doors are manufactured in hardwood timber and as they are made to measure, you can have peace of mind that our doors will fit perfectly. We offer a range of front door styles from solid timber doors to ones which also incorporate glass panels.

Garden doors generally refer to single doors that open out onto the garden or a courtyard area. We can replicate existing doors, create a new look or even manufacture a stable door for maximum flexibility. We will also fit all locks, letter boxes, handles and cat flaps to your new door if required.

Doors are made from solid timber and will last for years to come. If glass panels are incorporated into the design, we use double glazed toughened glass for maximum security.

Shop Fronts

We can replicate an existing shop front or, if planning permission has been obtained, use your new drawings to manufacture a different design.
